Others wanted to avoid having their careers ruined if they refused to cooperate. Doing something because the consequences of not doing it are extreme is not the same as wanting to do it.

Like I said Rudy, we'll just have to agree to disagree. I'm more interested in how something functions rather than the meanings of particular words. That's why I put lots of other words in the article. I think it's despicable and horrendous that someone should have to have sex with someone else to further their career but that doesn't change the dynamics of the situation. For example I dont know if this is still in the context : - I have an assignment I need to submit on this weekend, and Im planning on doing it now supposedly , but here i am reading your article LOL.

Hi Yusuf, Thanks for taking the time to contribute. Your question gets at the heart of this fascinating topic. You're reading my article because you want to!

Deborah Levy

It's clear, though, that you weren't completed contented just reading my article because your assignment still seemed to be on your mind. I hope you've made some progress by now :-! Great article thanks Tim. The role our wants play in understanding our behaviour is interesting to think about. Next time I'm doing something I don't want to be doing I'm going to consider my end game! Cheers, Ally. Thanks loads for your comments Ally. I love the "end game" term.

Definitely a good thing to keep in mind. I enjoyed this article! I've worked at an experiment for years that begins with listing pros and cons of behaviours yours, partners, ex's, friends, etc and ends up with a list of current important values that are in your life. Once you have it, it opens your eyes a bit more to why you are attracted to certain people, movies, books, situations, and why you behave a certain way.

I think it makes life even more interesting, if you love that kind of thing lol. Thanks for taking the time to comment Sandy. It's great to know the article hit the spot for you. It sounds like you're a keen student of behaviour too!! You've made my day Kristen! Thanks so much for taking the time to post this comment.

How to Get Over “I Don’t Want to Work” and Get Things Done

I'm really delighted the article hit the spot for you. An interesting and fun read :. I particularly liked the idea of humans as having a kaleidoscope of wants!
